Job Title: Material Handling Supervisor

Location: Gainesville, GA (In-Person)

Reports To: Production Manager

Position Type: Full-Time Exempt

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Material Handling Supervisor to lead our material handling team and ensure efficient flow of materials throughout our facility. This role oversees daily receiving, inventory movement, and distribution activities, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and productivity. The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive leader with a background in warehouse operations or manufacturing environments.

Continuous Improvement MindsetKey Responsibilities:

Supervise a team of material handlers to ensure timely and accurate receiving, staging, and delivery of materials.

Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

Ensure proper use of inventory management systems and maintain accurate stock records.

Schedule and assign work based on operational needs and staffing levels.

Train, coach, and support team members in proper material handling procedures and safety practices.

Coordinate with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to align material availability with production schedules.

Conduct regular inventory counts, audits, and assist with inventory reconciliation efforts.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized material storage area in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.

Monitor equipment use and ensure proper maintenance and inspection protocols are followed.

Communicate performance expectations, provide feedback, and assist in performance evaluations.Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.

3+ years of material handling or warehouse experience, with 1+ year in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Proficient in inventory systems, receiving documentation, and material flow processes.

Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and OSHA standards.

Good driving record. Work Environment

This is a physically active role involving both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
