Job Title: Setup Machinist

Job Description

As a Setup Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines based on specifications from blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. This role requires you to select and install tooling, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, as well as adjust machine settings to optimize speed, feed, and cutting paths for various material and tool types.

Pay : $25-28/hour + Full Benefits, Weekly Pay Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC milling machines according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workpieces on machines.

Adjust machine settings to optimize speed, feed, and cutting path.

Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet tolerances.

Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary offsets or adjustments.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace following all safety standards.

Document production data accurately, including inspection records, setup sheets, and maintenance logs.

Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.

Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills

Strong understanding of CNC milling operations, tooling, and machining best practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols.

Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and performing quality checks.

Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

Solid work ethic, punctuality, and proactive approach to tasks.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
