The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Grants and Contracts Administrator to join the Division of Biosciences. The Division of Biosciences is a multidisciplinary basic science unit committed to research and teaching in the broad area of the biomedical sciences.

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.

T32 Grant Administration

The Grants and Contracts Administrator will support trainee success by facilitating on time salary payments and reimbursements and will support the trainees’ principal investigator by promptly responding to NIH inquires about such issues as spending and compliance. The Grants and Contracts Administrator provides administrative and analytical support to the T32 grant, including pre-award and post-award management. The T-32 is an NIH funded training grant that supports a variety of trainees, PhD students, DDS/PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows.

The Grants and Contracts Administrator will forecast, plan, and manage research portfolios by performing some, or all, of the following: reviewing guidelines; coordinating and developing budget development; institutional compliance including gathering institutional approvals; administering and monitoring the grant, including compliance with regulations, terms and conditions; and financial management and technical reporting. In addition, the Grants and Contracts Administrator will assist with purchasing, travel arrangements, HR appointments, and monitoring spending- including managing overruns and residuals.

Office of Research

The Grants and Contracts Administrator will assist with Research Day, with receptions at the American Association of Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR), and at the International Association of Dental Researchers (IADR). The Grants and Contracts Administrator arranges student travel and manages receipts for student reimbursement and ensures students are paid correctly through current processes. The Grants and Contracts Administrator arranges travel for invited speakers and submits approval for CE credits for those attending invited lectures.

The Grants and Contracts Administrator will also provide backup for other team members as needed.

Schedule

Regular office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-4:30PM.

Compensation

$58,700 - $77,200/based on experience

Position Requirements

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this position is subject to indoor environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work as well as reviewing documents both in hard copy and electronic formats. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.

Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; 2 to 5 years experience in research, in research administration, grant and/or contract management; knowledge of, and experience with federal agencies, private agency sponsors, contract/grant regulations, procurement, budgeting, accounting, and financial management. The Grants and Contracts Administrator will have extensive administrative, customer service, independent problem-solving experience, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. They must be skilled in integrating information and managing multiple initiatives and projects and meet multiple deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.

Desired

Master’s degree with 1 or more years of experience desired. Experience with electronic research administrative tools and systems; experience with university policies, procedures, HR, Financial, and PI Portal, eStores, eTravel, BuckeyeLink and SIS systems is desired.
