We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Team Lead to lead programmes across Validation and Verification, within the functional systems engineering team. This is a key role to drive the delivery of critical defence capabilities while supporting in-service operations for a major air defence system.
You will lead a growing team of Systems Engineers to ensure certification delivery timescales are met under challenging and dynamic conditions. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on current and future military capabilities while working across multiple customer programmes.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the UK programme for the functional systems engineering team
Deliver certification requirements for defence programmes to strict timescales
Support the In-Service Support team in maintaining and enhancing existing capabilities
Manage and develop a team of systems engineers to achieve programme objectives
Adapt leadership approach to meet evolving challenges and maintain strategic vision
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive engagement and influence partners
Work independently across the organisation to deliver engineering solutions
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience in systems engineering processes in a highly regulated industry (ideally defence, aerospace or a related industry)
Track record of managing teams to deliver Certificates of Design for defence programmes
Experience with DOORS requirements management tool
Strong requirements management process knowledge
Ability to assess and synthesise evidence from multiple sources
Experience organising and managing small engineering teams
Adaptability to new challenges and changing priorities
