Job Description
This role is a key member of the Accounting team and is responsible for supervising other functions in the department such as the AP team and GL Accountants. Provides accounting support to other areas of the business in manufacturing and distribution. This role plays a key role in generating the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycles in preparing financial statements and participates in quarterly and annual audits as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
Leads the assigned accounting teams in creating process improvements and internal policies in accordance with best accounting practices in compliance with SOX and PCAOB standards.
Manages balance sheet related schedules and prepares quarterly roll forwards
Manages the posting of bank transactions and bank reconciliations
Manages all shared services, accounting activities and projects for her team.
Research into accounting guidance to ensure transactions follow GAAP.
Prepares trial balances of multiple facilities, which include intercompany transactions.
Prepares documentation for and participates in the annual audit of financial statements.
Mentors the staff accountants to develop industry knowledge and ensure company-wide compliance with legal regulations and standard accounting practices
Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
Coordinates the preparation and filing of property tax reports
Manages and reviews journal entries processed by her team.
Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or a senior member of the management team necessary for the operations of the department and the business.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting alongside five years of related experience.
Experience in leading a high-performance team and in leading process improvements.
ERP conversion experience is desirable
