Title: Sr. Data Governance Analyst

Location: Tempe, AZ (Hybrid – must be local)

Type: Long-Term Contract

The Senior Data Governance Analyst designs and leads initiatives that improve how enterprise data is managed, understood, and maintained. This role strengthens data integrity, enhances regulatory compliance, and helps establish consistent governance practices. Working with both technical and business teams, this person helps the organization optimize the value and reliability of its data assets.

Your role:

Build and implement scalable data governance practices, including policies, procedures, and standards that promote high-quality data.

Define governance priorities in collaboration with stakeholders and track progress against strategic goals.

Monitor and assess data quality across systems, addressing inconsistencies and identifying areas for improvement.

Develop and enforce data quality rules, validation protocols, and ownership accountability.

Ensure regulatory compliance for data access, privacy, and consent management in coordination with legal and compliance teams.

Manage metadata practices and taxonomies to support enterprise search, classification, and lineage documentation.

Maintain and configure data management platforms, including Collibra, Erwin, and Sparx Enterprise Architect.

Collaborate with integration and analytics teams on enterprise data initiatives, including connections with Snowflake and Dataiku.

Lead and support governance-related projects and enterprise data initiatives from planning through execution.

Partner with project teams to guide data governance implementation in system and process design.

Support internal users by maintaining the common information model and enhancing governance workflows and integration points.

Provide training, guidance, and regular communication to data stewards and broader teams to foster a data-driven culture.

Document data assets and develop written materials to support education and compliance.

Coach junior team members and contribute to the overall development of the data governance program.

What you’ve got:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data management, or related discipline

At least 10 years of total experience, including 3 or more in data governance or data management roles

Deep understanding of data quality management, metadata, stewardship, privacy, and regulatory standards

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with tools such as Collibra Data Catalog, Collibra Data Quality, Erwin, and Sparx

Skilled in cross-functional communication, including non-technical audiences and executive stakeholders

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in fast-paced environments

Excellent documentation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality

Ability to guide others, drive initiatives independently, and think critically about complex data issues

Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with a focus on service orientation

Preferred:

Certifications such as CDMP or DGSP

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar platforms
