Shipping Clerk

Job Description

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, verifying order accuracy, packaging products, creating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely delivery. This role ensures that all shipments meet company standards and customer requirements while maintaining accurate shipping records.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to customer and carrier specifications.

Verify and inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, quality, and completeness.

Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation using internal systems.

Schedule pickups and coordinate with freight carriers and couriers.

Maintain shipping records, including tracking numbers and delivery confirmations.

Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations, including hazardous material requirements (if applicable).

Communicate with customer service, sales, and warehouse teams to resolve any shipping-related issues.

Assist in receiving and stocking inventory as needed.

Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.

Conduct cycle counts and support inventory accuracy efforts.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.

Familiarity with shipping software and ERP systems.

Basic math and computer skills; experience with MS Office (especially Excel) is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Forklift certification is a plus.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Company Description
