Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our team in Amherst, Massachusetts. In this role, you will take charge of designing, implementing, and managing complex systems to support administrative and financial operations. This position also involves mentoring team members, ensuring system security, and driving the adoption of best practices in enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, implementation, and administration of enterprise systems supporting administrative and financial operations.
• Mentor and provide guidance to IT engineers and administrators on system development, deployment, and management.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure the protection and confidentiality of information resources.
• Organize and facilitate meetings to improve communication on IT-related topics across the organization.
• Manage projects aimed at transitioning and consolidating distributed systems into centralized enterprise models.
• Monitor and analyze systems to stay updated with evolving technologies and recommend necessary upgrades.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers in both physical and virtual environments.
• Oversee system performance, tune resources, and implement changes across test, development, and production environments.
• Respond to escalated technical issues and ensure prompt resolution of system-related incidents.
• Create automation tools to streamline processes and integrate various IT services.• Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency with cloud technologies and virtualization platforms such as VMware.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows 11.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting, particularly PowerShell.
• Familiarity with backup technologies and system monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
• Expertise in managing both Windows and Linux servers in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of configuration management tools, such as KACE.
• Proven ability to mentor and train technical staff effectively.
