Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee comprehensive budgets, financial forecasts, and projections to ensure organizational goals are met.
Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors, translating complex accounting concepts into clear, actionable insights.
Supervise and guide a team of entry-level and senior accountants, fostering growth and ensuring accuracy in financial operations.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Senior HR Director to align financial strategies with organizational objectives.
Take ownership of the fiscal department, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and maintain compliance.
Provide consultative support to leadership, offering insights and recommendations to drive sound financial decision-making.
Ensure timely execution of the financial close process, maintaining precision in reporting and analysis.
Lead hands-on financial operations, managing day-to-day accounting activities and resolving any issues that arise.
The ideal Controller will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
Other requirements for the Controller role include and are not limited to:
7+ years of Non-Profit accounting experience,
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices.
Proven ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
