About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on and creative Process Engineering Technician to join our Prototype Operations team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in building the infrastructure that supports the rapid development and assembly of our next-generation robotic systems. You'll work alongside world-class engineers and technicians to design and scale prototype assembly processes for complex electromechanical systems.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, enjoys problem-solving on the fly, and takes pride in building reliable systems that enable world-class hardware to come to life.
What You’ll Do
● Design, fabricate, and deploy custom workstations, fixtures, and storage solutions that enable safe, repeatable, and efficient prototype builds
● Identify, procure, and maintain specialized tooling for complex electromechanical assembly tasks.
● Set up, qualify, and maintain prototype assembly areas and process equipment.
● Build and continuously refine low-volume assembly lines to support evolving product designs and build targets.
● Provide direct hands-on support to build technicians, offering technical guidance and troubleshooting during builds.● Partner closely with manufacturing engineers, mechanical designers, program management, and supply chain to accelerate iteration cycles while maintaining quality and safety standards.
What You’ll Bring
● Proven ability to design and build custom workstations, carts, or tool storage solutions using hand tools, fasteners, framing systems (e.g., 80/20, creform), etc.
● Familiarity with process setup, equipment installation, and mechanical troubleshooting
● Expert knowledge of hand tools and assembly equipment.
● Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and build documentation.
● Clear communication skills and a team-first mindset in high-collaboration environments.
Bonus if You Have
● Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other advanced hardware industries.
● Basic CAD skills for fixture or workstation design. Catia or SolidWorks Preferred.
● Familiarity with MES tools, prototype tracking systems, or build documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Tulip).
