About the Opportunity
The Finance Director plays a strategic leadership role in overseeing the financial health of the substance abuse rehabilitation facility. They ensure responsible stewardship of funds, adherence to healthcare and nonprofit financial regulations, and alignment of fiscal strategy with the facility’s mission to provide quality care and recovery support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the facility’s mission and objectives.
Advise the executive team on financial planning, workforce planning, budgeting, capital planning, and investment opportunities.
Develop and monitor annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and leadership.
Monitor and optimize the revenue cycle to ensure financial sustainability.
Oversee accounting operations, accounts receivable/payable, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Manage audits and interface with external auditors.
Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and reporting systems.
Oversee grant management and reporting for public and private funding sources.
Lead the finance team in professional development, fostering accountability and performance.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Prior financial management experience, ideally in healthcare or nonprofit settings.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and healthcare billing systems.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and Excel-based modeling.
Experience with revenue cycle management in a healthcare setting.
Proven leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative, mission-driven mindset.
Experience in substance abuse treatment in behavioral health facilities is preferred.
Familiarity with CARF accreditation standards is preferred.
Knowledge of federal and state funding programs for substance abuse treatment is preferred.
