This position involves safety-sensitive job tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee or others, including but not limited to the operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle, equipment, machinery, or power tools. Repairing, maintaining, or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery, or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage. As set out more fully in the Drug and Alcohol Policy, employees in this position are subject to discipline up to and including termination of employment in the event of a positive drug test for marijuana components or metabolites, regardless of whether such employee has a valid Oklahoma medical marijuana license.
Requires a willingness to work outside regular business hours to meet deadlines, if necessary.
Must be able to communicate in the English Language.
Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering technical documents, including but not limited to: drawings, release notices, work instructions, acceptance test procedures/reports, and qualification test procedures/reports.
Revising and redlining engineering technical documentation (usually engineering drawings, work instructions, and acceptance test procedures) utilizing UDI's engineering Quality Management System processes and work instructions.
Ability to learn UDI's agile software and processes.
Engineering execution in UDI's ERP system (Costpoint) that engineering accesses. This includes:
Creating/revising process routings.
Creating Parts correctly.
Creating/revising Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Creating Purchase Requisitions.
Monitor Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
Identify, analyze, and solve obsolescence issues. Evaluate alternate and substitute parts in support of the UDI production lines.
Support new engineering design projects through the prototype manufacturing and testing phases.
Develop requirements for tooling and support equipment.
Familiarity with the operation and use cases of an optical comparator, a coordinate-measuring machine, and a laser engraver.
Ability to learn marginal competency in UDI's CAM software with the ability to help the machine shop troubleshoot tool pathing.
Determine which machines, tools, equipment, etc., will be used and where they will be stationed in the facility.
Proficiency in Machine Shop and Assembly processes.
Diagnose the origin of breakdowns, including human error, and troubleshoot problems in the Machine Shop, Assembly, and MRO departments.
Proficiency with Nonconforming Material Reports (NMRs). This includes diagnosing the problem, dispositioning the problem appropriately, and working with other departments to implement the solution.
Aid in maximizing machinery productivity in the Machine Shop, Assembly, and MRO departments.
Competency in troubleshooting test fixtures' minor issues autonomously.
Ability to assess incoming projects and compile hour estimates for the UDI production facilities (Machine Shop, Assembly, and MRO departments).
Ability to self-start and work independently
Ability to interface directly with Machine Shop, Assembly, and MRO personnel to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues
Increase speed and efficiency of processes without compromising quality.
Work to resolve problems and provide continuous improvement to the organization.

Preferred Knowledge:
Machine Shop/Assembly experience or a combination of vocational training and on-the-job experience.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Job Requirements:
Education and Training:
Minimum of two to five years of experience in addition to a Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, systems, industrial or mechanical engineering.
Or five plus years of experience in Engineering/Manufacturing.
