About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to join our team. This role requires hands-on expertise in designing, commissioning, and operating industrial wastewater or separation equipment. You will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the design, construction, modification, performance, and maintenance of equipment and machinery at OPR.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain standards and policies for equipment installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance
Prepare project scopes and schedules; coordinate work between internal teams and external contractors
Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, sensors, and valves
Direct and oversee the maintenance of plant equipment; coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys, and preventive maintenance schedules
Develop and prepare engineering and operational cost estimates for capital improvements
Track, maintain, and communicate key production, financial, quality, and operating expense metrics
Develop clear, written work instructions for critical processes, with a strong hands-on focus
Plan and coordinate capital project improvements
Perform other related duties as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics
PLC experience and ability to read ladder diagrams; VFD experience is highly preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Minimum of 5 years of process engineering experience in plant operations; experience with industrial wastewater systems is a plus
