About The Position

Job Title: Psychiatrist Profession: Psychiatry Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Experience: 5+ years in Psychiatry License: Certificate to practice medicine Certifications: Completion of accredited residency training program in Psychiatry Must-Have: - Ability to evaluate, examine, analyze, diagnose, and treat consumers. - Skill in prescribing medication and performing in-depth psychotherapy and counseling. - Knowledge of medicine, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology. Description: Evaluates, examines, analyzes, diagnoses, and treats consumers. Prescribes medication and performs in-depth psychotherapy and counseling, including psychoanalysis and behavior modification. Monitors and coordinates professional and paraprofessional medical, nursing, and direct care staff in areas related to psychiatric care. Reviews consumer records for accuracy and completeness. Recommends improvements in staffing and organization. Conducts and participates in lectures and seminars in psychiatry or related fields for healthcare staff. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interprets a wide variety of technical material in books, journals, and manuals. Handles sensitive contacts with persons under medical care. Exposed to challenging patient behaviors and potential infectious diseases. May require travel to community sites under contract with relevant departments. Biannual renewal of license with a requirement of 100 hours of continuing education.
