**Description:**

**Coordinator Records and Registration** **for the Mount Carmel College of Nursing**

**Position Purpose:**

Records and Registration Coordinator functions within the mission and strategic plan of Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Works collaboratively with the Director of Records & Registration to provide for quality operations of the Records and Registration Office.

**Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)**

+ Education: Associate’s Degree (or equivalent, relevant experience)

+ License / Certification:

+ Experience: Previous work experience (2-3 years) in a higher education environment preferred

+ Excellent Communication Skills and attention to detail in data entry

+ Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize/manage workflow

+ Excellent organizational, planning, and problem identification/solving skills

+ Ability to make independent/objective decisions

+ Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

+ Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information

+ Judgment, tact and professionalism required

+ Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies

+ Proficiency in office automation software

+ Experience with queries and integrated student information system

**Essential Responsibilities**

+ **(For patient care providers)** Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.

+ Collaborates with Registrar in planning, developing, conducting, and evaluating all aspects of departmental activities (including, but not limited to student orientation, graduation, degree auditing, credit evaluations, etc.),

+ Identifies process improvement opportunities; implements and/or collaborates with Registrar to develop effective procedures

+ Prepares Academic Progression materials for review and updates outcomes in Jenzabar.

+ Maintains accuracy and security of student academic records; complies with college policies and procedures; adheres to federal privacy law (FERPA) regulations and accreditation standards; serves as resource regarding FERPA legislation

+ Gathers information, organizes, prepares and edits selected College publications

+ Creates and maintains semester course schedule in integrated database; assigns classrooms

+ Processes student course registrations and schedule adjustments for all academic programs; collaborates with Registrar regarding all beginning and end of semester processes (transfer credit posting, schedule confirmations, final course grades, grade change documentation, Columbus State Community College and Ohio State University affiliated courses, student honors)

+ Processes transcript requests, student enrollment verifications and loan deferments

+ Participate in graduation planning, including coordination with campus partners and event logistics.

+ Oversee the conferral and ordering of degrees for graduating students.

+ Maintain inventory and distribution of graduation regalia and related materials.

+ Collaborate with Admissions to review applicant files for completeness and eligibility.

+ Create and manage student records, including the initial plan of study for incoming students.
