Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide administrative and fiscal support to the Dean's Office and Administrative Services Office.
* Prepare, review, and process fiscal documents, including purchases, payments, and reimbursements.
* Assist with day-to-day administrative duties and provide support to academic programs in the absence of office assistants.
* Initiate and audit reports as required for the accreditation, recruitment or other purposes.
* Gather and compile data for reporting as required by external agencies.
Serve as working supervisor and train undergraduate student assistants and temporary employees.
Ensure compliance with applicable University of Hawai`i (UH), Research Corporation of the University of Hawai`i (RCUH), state, federal, and sponsoring agency laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to fiscal and personnel matters.
Prepare reports, memos, and other documents as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Education, Communications, Social Sciences or related field and 1 year of progressively responsible professional experience in administration; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in administration demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with administration.
Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of administration.
Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in higher education administration.
Familiarity with administrative and fiscal tasks in an academic team setting.
Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheets (Excel) programs for financial analysis and database software (FileMaker Pro) on a personal computer.
Able to write and communicate well.
