Job Description
We are seeking a Logistics and Purchasing Analyst to join our Purchasing and Logistics team located in Davie, FL. The Analyst will be responsible for optimizing delivery and material handling across our China and Mexico production facilities. The role will focus on reducing costs, enhancing efficiency, and mitigating risks throughout the supply chain. You'll collaborate cross-functionally, execute cross-border clearances, and manage documentation to ensure compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with production facilities in China and Mexico to optimize delivery and material handling, and to drive value creation across the enterprise from a total cost/supply chain view.
Map out supply chain movements, streamline all activities, optimize related costs, and maximize efficiency.
Drive risk reduction and intermodal execution to create flexibility and options across the supply chain.
Collaborate cross-functionally, internally, and externally, to implement trade compliance operations solutions.
Execute cross-border clearance, and file import/export declarations with customs, other government agencies currently in support of customs brokers.
Process, collect, organize, analyze and report required data to facilitate cross-border execution and analysis.
Ensure regulatory requirements are met, and proper documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments.
Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain successful relationships with local vendors (e.g., freight forwarders, custom brokers, local drayage companies) as well as other carriers.
Negotiate shipping rates, review and dispute invoices and submit shipping quotes to supervisor for approval when necessary to be competitive.
Establish knowledge of Incoterms, commercial invoice requirements and work to improve layouts and processes.
Develop methods and procedures for transportation of commodities for designated shippers from local or offshore locations to warehouses, other storage facilities or final consignee locations.
Prepare timely management information and reports as specified and requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
This is an Intermediate level position, bachelor’s degree or comparable job-related experience required.
1-5 years operational experience in international import transportation, preferably with an international logistics provider.
SAP® ERP experience highly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Office, and Teams
Effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
