The City of Cibolo is seeking a highly motivated Crime Analyst to join our team. As a key member of the Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the newly created HEAT (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Team, the Crime Analyst performs a variety of strategic, tactical and administrative duties relating to the systematic process of collecting, categorizing, analyzing and disseminating timely, accurate and useful information for the City and the Police Department. This role manages crime analysis duties involving, recording and maintaining analysis of raw data of criminal patterns, trends and potential suspects, reviews video and helps to investigate theft rings and crime sprees with a specific focus on motor vehicle related criminal activity. This role would also assist with any other duties as assigned by the Police Chain of Command.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in police science, criminology, sociology, public administration, computer science, statistics, math, or related areas of study.
Two (2) years of experience in a law enforcement agency as an analyst OR
Four (4) years of experience in a law enforcement agency as an analyst with an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
Cybersecurity and CJIS; must maintain.
The candidate must never have been convicted, put on court-ordered community supervision, or probation for any criminal offense above the grade of Class B Misdemeanor or a Class B Misdemeanor within the last ten years from the date of the court order. Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Deferred Adjudication, or Felony Conviction are permanent disqualifiers.
Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and credit check.
Must be in compliance with the department’s drug policy.
Ability to work irregular hours and schedule at times to meet deadlines.
Compensation: Non-exempt FLSA status salary range is $56,879.26 - $85,318.89 (DOE); equivalates to $27.35/hr to $41.02/hr.
