Job Description
Job Summary:
Manage and coordinate various capital projects. Prepare the annual five-year capital investment program (CIP). Track all projects (Sewer, Water, and Stormwater) in design and construction or wait for construction and prepare appropriate reports.
Responsibilities:
Performs research of records in the Bibb County Superior Court Clerk’s Office.
Coordinates projects as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested by supervisors
Manage Macon Water Authority Capital projects.
Manage projects through the construction phase and proactively address and avoid potential construction issues promptly.
Reviews change orders for adequate justifications and availability of project funds.
Prepares complete, accurate, and concise written reports.
Respond to inquiries and complaints with tact and courtesy by providing complete and accurate information.
Work effectively in team efforts by making a positive contribution and meeting individual responsibilities necessary to accomplish the organization’s objectives.
Notifies supervisor at the earliest possible time of any critical information discovered that may be pertinent to any current issue.
Plans and organizes work to meet deadlines and commitments to others.
Promptly alerts supervisors, in advance of deadlines, when work may not be completed on schedule. Work out a plan to meet deadlines using alternate methods or establish a new deadline.
Produces accurate, thorough, complete, and understandable work to others.
Demonstrates practical knowledge of construction practices.
Effectively monitors work progress by consultants/contractors and compares progress to the scope of work.
Reviews invoices from consultants/contractors and compares them to agreements. Processes billing promptly.
Files and maintains project information in a complete and orderly manner that is easily referenced by other team members.
Coordinate easement acquisitions.
Writing/administration of contracts
Dealing with attorneys on contract documents
Demonstrable knowledge in preparing GANTT charts or PERK charts.
Ability to prepare GANTT and PERT charts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related fields or equivalent with three to five years of experience.
Knowledge of various software programs essential to MWA functions, including the MS Office suite of office productivity programs, AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
A valid Georgia Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, standing, stooping,
Ability to carry 25 pounds up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
Occasionally sitting, crawling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
Ability to grasp and hold.
