Position Summary
The Contract Machining Manager will plan, monitor, implement, and launch programs to meet customer objectives and expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Keep contact to sales accounts and categorizes accounts according to strategy of SF Tooling Group
Identifies sales opportunities, organizes and manages them in transparent sales funnel
Clarifies customer’s requirements and reflects the requirements in a quotation with a focus on comprehensive solutions
Executes estimations on which quotes are based. Establishes and continually improves a process to increase precision in calculations
Manage and direct ongoing project – responsible for problems, developing solutions, coordinate project milestones and conducting meetings with your team
Interface of technical and commercial questions to our customers (in contract machining)
Communicate the project progress from a technical point of view and ensure a timely implementation
Maintain existing and develop new customer relationships
Test, evaluate and implement customer requirements for feasibility, costs, and design
Obtain sufficient resources for successful completion of project
Estimates projects
Responsible for project budget and timeline
Participate in advanced quality planning, job progress and quality review meeting
Determine necessary materials, supplies and outside services to complete project
Update internal and external contacts on project status/activities
Review and communicate priorities with team members
Troubleshoot any issues/nonconformance with required documentation
Performing other duties as assigned
Observe all safety rules & regulations
Compliance of quality system requirements
Compliance of customer, regulatory and statutory requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Observe customer, regulatory and statutory requirements
Traveling may be required based upon customer needs
Desired Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Minimum five years’ experience in Tool & Die manufacturing and/or machining experience
Customer relations management experience
Excellent working knowledge of machining processes and in-depth understanding of tool and die manufacturing
Knowledge of machining, tool & die, modeling, programming, die cast process
Good understanding of similar industrial practices (electrical, plumbing, hydraulics)
Understanding of Federal and State OSHA standards
Understanding of basic employment rules and regulations (State and Federal)
Strong organization, leadership, verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer aptitude, including Microsoft Office applications
Flexible individual – can adapt to constant change and keep the project and personnel moving in the right direction
Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format
