Labor Estimator – National Projects

What we’re looking for:

The Labor Estimator is responsible for developing and creating electrical solutions and proposals that align with customer objectives and goals. This responsibility includes identifying potential risks, creating mitigation strategies, and developing contingency plans in support of the customers objective. This candidate must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of scope definition and effectively communicate pricing requirements to subcontractors. Additionally, the candidate will create cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects, striving for maximum productivity and economical use of labor and equipment to maintain competitive costs or stay within budgets.

What you will be doing as a key player on our dynamic team:

Develop electrical solutions and proposals based on customer objectives and goals.

Identify potential risks within proposed solutions, develop mitigation strategies, and create contingency plans as needed.

Demonstrate thorough understanding of scope definition and communicate pricing requirements effectively to subcontractors.

Creates cost estimates (labor and materials) for electrical commercial and industrial projects.

Strives to obtain maximum productivity and economical use of labor and equipment to keep costs competitive or within budget.

Capable of creating and providing routine reports and status updates for team and leadership.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support as needed.

Develop program forecasts and budgets to align with organizational goals.

Ensure timely and professional communication with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Develop responses to RFPs from customers, and internal teams.

Technical Skills:

Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new technologies

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Proficient in complete construction takeoff

Epicor Solar Eclipse experience preferred

Trimble Estimating software experience preferred

Smartsheet experience preferred

AutoCAD experience preferred

Core Competencies:

Must be able to develop and create new solutions based on customers’ objectives and goals.

Must have a functional understanding of electricity and typical commercial / industrial electrical infrastructure.

Excellent operational skills to deliver results flawlessly.

Strong internal customer relationship orientation: customer focused, and deadline driven. Capable of providing results on assigned tasks.

Demonstrated working knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 70E

Demonstrated understanding of the project bidding process.

Strong customer focus with clear and concise communication to both internal and external customers; ability to listen and develop action plans for solutions.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.

Strong organizational skills including the ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Proven attentiveness to detail with problem analysis and issue resolution skills.

Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated capability to write clear and concise scopes of work, agreements, and technical guides.

Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and conduct.

Experience:

Value engineering electrical solutions.

Minimum of 2 years’ field experience retrofitting or servicing existing electrical infrastructure for electrical contractors or similar related construction experience.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Engineering degree preferred
