HL7 Integration Engineer

Job Title: Healthcare Integration Engineer (InterSystems IRIS for Health) Location: Hartford,CT Type: Contract w2 / Full-Time Number of Positions: 3 Start Date: ASAP Job Summary: We are seeking 2–3 experienced Healthcare Integration Engineers with hands-on expertise in InterSystems IRIS for Health, HL7, FHIR, and ObjectScript to support a health plan client.

The role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure data integration pipelines to enable seamless exchange of clinical and administrative healthcare data in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Key Responsibilities:Design and implement healthcare data integrations using the InterSystems IRIS for Health platform.Work with HL7 v2.

x, FHIR, and other healthcare standards to parse, transform, and route messages/data.Develop and maintain applications using ObjectScript for backend processing.Collaborate with clinical, business, and IT stakeholders to understand integration requirements.Ensure all data workflows meet security, compliance, and privacy requirements under HIPAA.Troubleshoot and resolve data flow or system issues quickly and effectively.Monitor performance and optimize system throughput and data quality.Document integration processes and maintain technical specifications.

Required Skills & Experience:5+ years of hands-on experience with InterSystems IRIS for Health or Ensemble/Caché.Strong proficiency in HL7 v2.x, FHIR APIs, and data transformation standards.Solid working knowledge of ObjectScript development.Experience building and maintaining real-time or batch integration pipelines.Prior exposure to HIPAA or working in a healthcare-compliant IT environment.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
