Job Title: Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer Location: Remote (with up to 25% travel) Department: Network Operations Reports To: VP of Network Strategy and Development About Sovato Sovato is a healthcare innovation company redefining how surgical care is delivered globally.

Position Summary As a Network NOC Engineer at Sovato, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of the network infrastructure that powers Sovato’s remote surgical platform.

This is a hands-on, operations-focused role responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, triage, and support of our enterprise and surgical grade network.

You will contribute directly to Sovato’s mission by keeping surgical networks online, secure, and highly performant—enabling life-saving care to be delivered virtually and globally.

Key Responsibilities Network Operations & MonitoringMonitor and analyze network performance using industry-standard network performance monitoring (NPM) tools.Track and respond to network alarms, performance metrics, and anomalies across distributed systems.Proactively identify trends and recurring issues to reduce downtime and optimize network stability.Maintain up-to-date documentation of network performance and incidents.

Incident Management & TroubleshootingServe as the first line of defense for network-related issues, providing Level 1 troubleshooting and triage.Log, escalate, and track incident tickets through to resolution in coordination with internal teams and external vendors.Assist in root cause analysis and documentation of network outages or degradations.

Technical Support & CollaborationProvide customer-facing technical support with a focus on responsiveness and empathy.Collaborate with field technicians, engineering, and product teams to continuously improve network capabilities.Contribute to technical knowledge bases and operational playbooks.

Customer Experience & Field ReadinessEnsure that all communications—verbal and written—are clear, professional, and reflect Sovato’s commitment to excellence in patient care.Participate in go-live activities, new site activations, and support network node deployments.Engage with end users and clinical stakeholders to ensure a seamless technical experience.

Required Qualifications3+ year in a NOC or technical operations role with live troubleshooting experience.Experience with runbooks, network performance monitoring, alerts and trend analysis.3+ years of experience supporting enterprise or carrier-grade network environments.Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Information Systems, or related field (preferred). Technical SkillsProficiency with:Network monitoring and diagnostic tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.)TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPFSD-WAN technologies (e.g., Fortinet SD-WAN)Firewalls and security appliances (FortiGate)Layer 1–7 network protocols and troubleshootingExposure to Arista switches and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts Soft SkillsStrong analytical thinking and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a distributed team.

Physical & Travel RequirementsAbility to lift and install networking equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in field environments.Willingness to travel up to 25% for deployments, training, or onsite support—both within the U.S.

and internationally.
