Embedded Software Engineer

Position: Software Engineer Location: Hybrid in Clarksburg, Maryland (1 week per month onsite) Duration: Direct Hire We’re hiring a Software Engineer to support the design and development of embedded systems used in high-assurance, safety-regulated environments.

This role is ideal for engineers with strong experience in real-time systems, embedded C, and safety standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement robust, fault-tolerant safety-critical softwareContribute to system architecture and interface with cross-functional teamsParticipate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and reviewsEnsure full traceability of software to system and safety requirementsDevelop and maintain documentation and safety artifacts in line with industry standardsSupport validation, integration, and safety assessments across the product lifecycleWrite software in C or model-based tools for RTOS environments Required QualificationsExperience with embedded software development in CFamiliarity with RTOS environments Knowledge of MISRA C coding guidelines Preferred QualificationsExperience with tools like Simulink, SCADE, or similarBackground in CAN, Ethernet, or FlexRay protocolsExperience with safety documentation (FMEAs, test plans, interface control docs)Knowledge of robotics software: perception, navigation, planning, or controlsExposure to complex electromechanical systems (aerospace, automotive, medical)
