Network Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Onsite in Rochester, MN (Remote opportunities available after 3 months) Engagement Type: 6+ Month Contract To be eligible for this role, our client requires you to be a W2 employee of VALERE (no subcontracting allowed, we do not sponsor visas). About the Opportunity: VALERE is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer for our client.

This hybrid position supports one of their high-impact infrastructure teams and offers remote flexibility after an initial on-site period.

Why You'll Love This Role:Remote flexibility after 3 monthsInvolvement in complex, enterprise-scale network infrastructureOpportunity to lead troubleshooting and security incident responseWork with cutting-edge technologies including SDN, automation, and GCPWhat You'll Do:Support multiple network infrastructure disciplines including routing, switching, and wirelessOperate and maintain security infrastructure including NAC, segmentation (TrustSec, ISE), VPN, secure web browsing, internet caching, and DNS securityAssist or lead network security incident response in coordination with Help Desk, ITOC, and SOCWork with SDN tools such as firewalls, WAN/LAN, SASE, and Cloud networkingUtilize scripting and automation tools including Splunk, Ansible, Python, and .NETCoordinate the planning, installation, and upgrades of network equipmentProvide technical evaluation of monitoring tools and new network productsParticipate in technical architecture discussions and product selectionsInterface with customers during outages and system performance issuesLead project implementations and troubleshooting impacting patient care or operations What You Bring:In-depth knowledge of telecom/network protocols, the OSI model, and cabling systemsFamiliarity with network monitoring and management toolsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExperience working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management capabilitiesCisco experience preferredCCNA certification preferredFamiliarity with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies Education:Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of professional experienceOR Associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional experienceOR a minimum of 6 years of professional technical experience in telecom/data networking without a degree Pay Rate: This is a contract role with an hourly rate of $78.

Your specific rate will depend on your qualifications, education, certifications, location, and how well your experience aligns with the client's requirements.
