This role involves hands-on technical leadership, iterative development, and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, lead, develop, and mentor a distributed, cross-functional team dedicated to delivering high-quality, customer-focused software.Cultivate a strong engineering culture based on accountability, ownership, and collaboration.Promote a hybrid work environment with a mix of employees and contractors.Identify and nurture emerging leaders within the team while reducing key-person dependencies.
Agile Execution & Iterative Software DeliveryConduct transparent software delivery processes each sprint with clear objectives, high visibility into progress, and a strong focus on test automation.Ensure sprint outcomes are showcased to actual users and stakeholders at sprint boundaries.
Technical LeadershipActively engage in engineering activities, architecture discussions, and problem-solving across the tech stack.Support the development of observable systems using robust metrics, monitoring, and alerting.Promote the adoption of modern technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, Angular, GraphQL, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
Stakeholder Engagement & Program ManagementWork closely with product, business, and technology partners to align team efforts with strategic goals.Ensure teams have high-quality, well-understood, and prioritized stories that can be estimated and committed for sprint delivery.Maintain regular communication of performance metrics, risks, and impediments to leadership.Collaborate across departments to manage dependencies and ensure successful program execution.
Continuous Improvement & Best PracticesAdvocate for Agile, Lean, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.Drive team improvements through retrospectives and developer enablement initiatives.Foster a culture of empiricism and learning through experimentation, observation, and feedback.Continuously seek and implement opportunities to eliminate inefficiencies and increase throughput.
Qualifications Experience7+ years of experience leading and managing high-performing engineering teams in iterative delivery environments.5+ years of hands-on software development experience in complex technical environments.
Technical SkillsProficiency with modern web development technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, Angular, GraphQL.Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory databases (PostgreSQL preferred).Familiarity with automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
Leadership & CollaborationProven ability to lead by example, earn respect through hands-on engagement, and inspire high-performing teams.Skilled communicator able to align stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus within a mid-size corporate environment.Demonstrated experience fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

The base salary range for the tagged location is $135,000– $175,000.
