Network Security Engineer

Job Description We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic Information Security team.

In this role, you will play a key part in designing, implementing, and optimizing security technologies to protect the organization’s critical IT infrastructure.

The candidate will work closely with the network infrastructure team, focusing specifically on security aspects related to Cisco switches and Palo Alto firewalls.

You will collaborate closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesExperience working on projects like Network Segmentation/zero trust architecture, Cisco/Palo/F5 security baselining and vulnerability management processes.Oversee the implementation, tuning, and troubleshooting of security systems, including:Network Access Control (NAC) - Forescout is what is currently used, but any experience with any NAC resources will workOther areas of interest that candidate will be exposed to:Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP)/Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)Email malware and spam filteringActive Directory (AD) securityPrivileged Access Management (PAM)Vulnerability ManagementIdentity and Access Management (IAM)Certificate ManagementMobile Device Management (MDM)Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)Participate in incident response, forensic analysis, and remediation planning.Maintain and enhance technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies, and recommend improvements.Complete third-party security questionnaires and participate in external cybersecurity program reviews, including penetration testing and framework reviews.Participate in risk assessments and tabletop exercises.Analyze system logs for health and troubleshooting.Assist Security Operations during security incidents.

Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in securityNetwork Access Control (NAC) experience: Forescout, Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco Identity Svcs Engine (ISE), ThreatLockerExperience-with Cisco Switches & Palo Alto FirewallsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Deep understanding of enterprise security architecture and IT infrastructure.

Preferred QualificationsIndustry certifications: CISSP, GIAC, OSCP, or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) a plusExperience with security automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell).Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and secure CI/CD pipeline integration.Experience in regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST, ISO 27001).
