Backend Software Engineer, Block Storage W2 Contract Salary Range: $104,000 - $124,800 per year Location: Seattle, WA - Hybrid Role Job Summary: Our team is building a low-latency, distributed block storage system to run workloads on our private-cloud infrastructure supporting databases, ML and analytics frameworks, and large-scale containerized and virtualized jobs.

In this role, you will have the rare opportunity to work on storage device-optimized low-level storage, large-scale distributed systems, and high-performance IO stacks operating at mission-critical levels of availability and durability.

Requirements and Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience2+ years of professional software development experienceProficient with Unix/LinuxExperience with storage environments and strong knowledge of storage platformsCoding skills in one or more of these programming languages: Rust (preferred), C++, Java, or C#Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PerlExperience and understanding of file systemsExcellent knowledge of software testing methodologies and practicesStrong ownership of work and track record of delivering resultsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with high-performance asynchronous IO systems programming is desiredKnowledge of distributed systems is preferred Desired Skills and Experience Software development, block storage, distributed storage, Unix, Linux, Rust, C++, Java, C#, Bash, Python, Perl, file systems, software testing, asynchronous IO Bayside Solutions, Inc.
