Job Summary: As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and production of custom trailer designs using AutoCAD 2D, Inventor 3D, and related software tools.

You will support cross-functional teams by preparing detailed technical drawings and documentation necessary for the manufacturing process, ensuring safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:Develop and detail 2D/3D CAD drawings for custom trailers, ensuring fit, function, and manufacturability.Apply engineering principles (e.g., statics, dynamics, stress analysis) to solve design challenges.Lead design reviews and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to finalize trailer designs.Translate sales specifications into production-ready documentation.Coordinate with production staff and purchasing to ensure timely execution of project requirements.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including FEA analysis and process optimization.Assist with Engineering Change Notices and documentation updates.Manage multiple projects at varying stages, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.3–5 years of relevant design engineering experience.Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D (minimum 1 year AutoCAD experience required).Strong understanding of product development, design for manufacturing, and project management.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Familiarity with multiple disciplines, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry, is a plus.Experience with Microsoft Office, Pro-E, and MRP systems.

Additional Information:Onsite role in Cresco, IA with ~20% time spent in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.Relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidates.Only candidates with U.S.
