Data Platform Engineer II - Db2

One of our leading client is looking for Data Platform Engineer II – Db2 in Reading PA The core requirements of the job are:Triage production issues and work with multiple teams to perform problem analysisRun through query review workflowIdentify poorly running processes in production – CPU, plan cache analysisExecute production data fixesImplement DDL changes in non-prod and prod environmentsExecute overnight DB deploys – typically twice a week between 8 pm and 2 am EDT, for the DBA on-call that week.Participate in rotating, week-long, on-call rotation.

With a team of 4, the on-call will be once every 4 weeks.

Qualifications/experience we will be looking for in a candidate are:8+ years of experience with IBM i servers working as a database administrator/engineer.

We can also consider RPG developers if they have some experience with Db2 database administration and query performance tuningExperience with IBM ACS tools like Run SQL, Schemas, Visual ExplainExperience with IBM performance tools like iDoctor and Performance NavigatorExperience with IBM i change management s/w like Implementer and MDCMS (Midrange Dynamics)Writing complex SQL queries that use joins, sub-selects and with statementsDemonstrated ability to support and administer high volume and high velocity application/data environmentsUnderstanding of DevOps concepts, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, Git
