Aureon Consulting has an immediate need for an experience Network Engineer for consulting role with a growing client in West Des Moines.

Opening is driven by organizational growth and has a strong chance of becoming a permanent position after 6 months if performance is strong and the cultural fit is solid.

This is an on-site role that may require occasional travel and off hours work, as it's centered on supporting critical infrastructure.

Network Engineer The Network Engineer II is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s network and IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include managing virtualization platforms for servers and desktops, overseeing storage area network (SAN) performance, and maintaining network hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, and cabling.

This role also supports IP telephony systems, VPN services, and data center operations including rack space, power, and cooling.

The Network Engineer II is expected to take ownership of systems, contribute to infrastructure planning, and assist with project execution while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

• 5–8 years of IT support experience, including at least 2 years in infrastructure support.

• Preferred certifications: Cisco, VMware, or Microsoft.

• Experience with cloud networking in platforms like Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system improvement.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Customer service experience and a commitment to meeting internal and external client needs.
