Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled cloud engineer professional to join our growing team here in Parsippany!
The Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This person will be responsible for working with the IT leadership team to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud environments, while also supporting the deployment and management of cloud-based applications and services.
Duties/Responsibilities:Administer and manage cloud services on Azure and AWS, including virtual machines, storage, networks, and databases.Monitor cloud resources to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.Implement and manage cloud security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and firewall rules.Deploy and configure cloud-based applications and services using best practices and automation tools (e.g.
Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, AWS CloudFormation).Work with on premise team to implement on prem, hybrid and cloud-based infrastructure solutions.Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing infrastructure.Setup and configuration of cloud compute resources in both AWS and Azure.Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security.Analyze and optimize resource usage to reduce costs and improve efficiency.Implement and manage auto-scaling and load-balancing solutions.Respond to and resolve incidents related to cloud infrastructure and services using ITIL tools.Perform root cause analysis for issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.Maintain detailed documentation of cloud configurations, processes, and incidents.Work with the IT team to develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans for cloud resources.Work with the IT team to regularly test and update disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.Ensure compliance by implementing cloud policies to meet regulatory requirements related to cloud infrastructure.Conduct regular audits and review them with IT leadership to maintain security and compliance standards for all cloud environments.Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and best practices.Evaluate and recommend new cloud tools and services to improve infrastructure and operational efficiency.Perform other duties at the discretion of management.
Required Skills & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field requiredMinimum of 5-7+ years of experience as a cloud engineer in a large corporate environmentProficiency in both AWS and Azure environmentsExperience with scripting and automation toolsFamiliarity with DevOps practices and toolsLinux experience preferredAWS or Azure certifications preferredExcellent understanding of cloud architecture and servicesStrong problem solving and analytical skillsProcess-oriented and quality-focused with exceptional attention to detailDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environmentExcellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks on deadlineEffective communications skills, both written and verbalAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentMust be willing to work fully on-site Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Come join our growing team here in Parsippany!
