Location: Must be local to a Chicago or Baltimore Client satellite: (Joliet, LC3, or BHQ, Owings Mills). Schedule: Expect fully remote, but local to desired Client Hub.

Expert in Unix desiredEnterprise environment exp preferred, non-Government profiles (local, state, or federal)This position is a technical project manager to guide NFS storage migrations for Unit Systems - Stabilizationmanage the coordination of migrations with ~200 application teamsdiscuss technical aspects of migration options with application teamscomplete the data migrations as scheduled Required Exp;At least 6-8 yrs System Admin exp (oracle, unix, linux, clustering, etc) Solaris helpful, but not needed.Must have BA or BS in a related IT concentration or other concentration minimumIf former contractor must be eligible for a 12 month assignment and in client good standing Preferred - technical:Ability to create original script/programs for system administration in at least one of these languages: Bourne shell, Perl, Python, JavaExperience with Ansible playbooks Required technical:Expert in Unix system administrationRed Hat LinuxOracle LinuxSolaris -helpful, not requiredStorage administration (ZFS, LVM, Veritas)Ability to create original script/programs for system administration in at least one of these languages: Bourne shell, Perl, Python, JavaExperience with Ansible, especially supporting build and patch automation for RHEL and OELExperience with Red Hat PCS clustering Required behavioral:Participate in on call rotation (will be discussed during interview stage)Work extended hours or modified schedule for planned or emergency work Preferred (6-8 yrs exp):Experience with OS clustering - one of:Veritas InfoscaleOracle ClusterwareSolarisRed Hat PCSExperience with Oracle Exadata Description:A System Administrator, often abbreviated as sysadmin, is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers.

Their primary duties include:Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure system security and efficiency.Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.Creating user accounts and managing access control.Installing and upgrading software and operating systems.Performing regular backups and ensuring data integrity.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESManage RedHat 6, 7, 8, 9 servers from both a hardware and operating system standpoint.Manage support of VMware vSphere hypervisor to allow hosting of servers in a virtualized highly available environment.Configure and maintain server processes, configurations, and backupsMaintain and monitor Linux and VMware platform health and performanceMaintain server inventory information to ensure accuracy of configuration management DB.Support the production release management system for documenting, planning, and implementing IT changes.Plan, coordinate, communicate and implement security patching activities for Linux server platforms.Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changesAssist in racking and stacking of servers in Client’s data CentersProvide 24x7 support and participate in on call rotation for critical production systems POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum:Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related field) and 5-7 years relevant experience (IT infrastructure support, application support, cloud computing, disaster/recovery) or 6-9 years of relevant work experienceDemonstrated proficiency in at least one operational domain such as storage, compute, database, collaboration, application support, [cloud hosting and related technologies]Ability to lift up to 25lbs to rack servers with assistance and use of server lifts as needed.Ability to travel domestically.24/7 on-call rotational duties
