Conceptual Estimator – Design-Build Industrial/Warehouse Focus Columbus, OH (Relocation Assistance Available) $130,000 – $170,000 base + strong bonus + excellent benefits Our client — a leading design-build firm specializing in industrial and warehouse projects — is seeking a Conceptual Estimator to play a key role in their preconstruction team.

This is a critical hire and a high-visibility position where you'll influence project direction from day one.

As a Conceptual Estimator, you’ll work upstream in the project lifecycle — before drawings are finalized — helping shape scope, budget, and delivery strategy for major industrial builds.

You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders, design partners, and clients to turn rough ideas into real projects.

Key Responsibilities:Develop accurate conceptual and schematic budgets using limited documentation and historical cost dataLead the early budgeting process and provide cost options that align with project goalsGuide internal design and operations teams on scope, logistics, and feasibilityServe as a key liaison with owners, architects, and engineers during the project development phaseEvaluate historical cost trends and market data to inform budget assumptionsIdentify and mitigate risk during the earliest project phases Ideal Candidate:5+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience, with a strong background in conceptual estimatingDeep understanding of industrial/warehouse or manufacturing facility constructionStrong communicator comfortable interfacing with owners, designers, and executivesProficient in estimating software, Excel, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentStrategic mindset with the ability to balance big-picture goals and technical detail Why This Role?Strategic Position – You’ll be a key contributor to early project planning and decision-makingStrong Compensation – Base salary of $130K–$170K plus performance-based bonusRelocation Support – Open to relocators with financial assistance providedHigh-Growth Firm – Be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team with an excellent industry reputationBest-in-Class Benefits – Comprehensive package including healthcare, 401(k), paid time off, and more This is more than just an estimating role — it’s a chance to shape the front end of complex, high-value industrial projects.
