Matrix Tooling & Design, located in Ramsey, MN is a precision machining company and we are hiring a skilled CNC programmer/operator to join our team. Position Summary
Work in a machining environment programming, setting up, and operating CNC vertical mills, CNC lathes, manual machining equipment, and other machine tools as needed.
Required Job Tasks
· Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce a high mix of quality parts from various materials
· Set up and operate other manual and CNC machine tools as required
· Operate multiple work centers to complete parts per print
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues
· Utilize job management/tracking software (ERP System), i.e. Job Boss, to accurately track job timings and routings
· Maintain a clean, organized work stations and assist with overall shop cleanliness and organization
· Properly manage/maintain machine tools, i.e coolant/oil, way lube, chip removal, etc.
· Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements in shop efficiencies and manufacturing process
· Assist in the creation of and observation of work instructions
· Utilize CAD/CAM software and conversational programming to assist in completing parts efficiently and per print
· Verify and inspect dimensions of all parts and properly document as required
· Adhere to strong visual quality criteria, i.e de-burring, surface finish, blemishes, etc.
· Multitask between projects and prioritize workload to ensure timely completion
· Collaborate with all team members to troubleshoot, plan, improve and overall do the right thing
· Help promote good morale and productivity
· Understand and comply with Company Policies
· Complete all other job duties as required/assigned
Maintain a safe working environment, upholding a proactive safety culture by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Required Qualifications
· 3+ years of milling experience, 2-year tech program/trade school preferred
· Knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
· Ability to interpret complex part geometry
· Experience in a variety of work holding and setup methods
· Experience and knowledge in speeds, feeds, chip loads, and other machining properties
· Ability to complete both in-process and final part inspections
· Ability to troubleshoot problems related to the machining environment
· Ability to multitask and prioritize work
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to work with and assist other shop team members
· Ability to occasionally lift and carry approximately 10-60lbs, stand, bend and stoop
