JIRA Systems & Process Improvement Consultant

This position is with one of our clients in The USA, who is actively hiring candidates to expand their teams.

Title: JIRA Systems & Process Improvement Consultant Location: Irvine CA (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract Job Description: ● Own and manage workflows in JIRA systems including Design Verification Plan - DVP, Deviations - DVI, Concerns - C). ● Drive closure of open items and ensure alignment with engineering, validation, and quality team timelines.

● Perform value stream mapping to visualize and analyze current-state processes and identify opportunities for optimization.

● Design and implement improved workflows, dashboards, automations, and reporting tools within JIRA.

● Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and timely flow of information.

● Build scalable systems and eliminate process redundancies or bottlenecks.

● Deliver weekly reports on metrics, open issues, process health, and risks.

● Create comprehensive documentation of system architecture, user guides, and operational SOPs.

● Develop and deliver a formal training course to onboard internal stakeholders.

● Prepare a detailed maintenance and transition plan to support sustained operational continuity post-engagement.

Required Experience & Skills ● 3+ years of experience working in various engineering, validation, and quality systems ● Strong understanding of value stream mapping, lean operations, or process improvement methodologies.

● Demonstrated self-sufficiency in problem-solving and system optimization.

● Experience building dashboards, custom workflows, filters, and automations in JIRA.

● Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

● Proven ability to work cross-functionally and adapt in fast-paced environments.

Deliverables 1.

Operational Execution: Daily management and continuous improvement of JIRA-based systems.

Weekly reporting on issue closure rates, aging metrics, and systemic gaps.

Value Stream Mapping Outputs: Current- and future-state process maps for DVP, DVI, and RC workflows.

Root cause analysis and recommendations for eliminating waste or inefficiencies.

3.

System Documentation Package: JIRA configurations, admin tools, automation logic, and workflow definitions.

4.

Training Curriculum: Instructor-led training materials, onboarding guides, recorded tutorials, and role-based user instructions.

5.

Maintenance & Transition Plan: Post-engagement support plan including troubleshooting protocols, escalation paths, and governance model.
