Software Engineer

Title: Software Engineer Location: Tucson, AZ (Local Candidates Only Onsite Role) Job Type: W2 Contract – 12 Months (Possible Extension) Job Description: We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a leading healthcare innovation team focused on transforming digital diagnostics.

This is a W2-only, 12-month onsite contract based in Tucson, AZ, with the potential for extension.

You’ll play a key role in developing robust internal tools and infrastructure to support cutting-edge AI/ML algorithm development in the digital pathology space.

This includes workflow automation, image data management, software tooling, and compliance support within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain software systems supporting data management, algorithm development, and workflow automation.Collaborate closely with data scientists and cross-functional engineering teams.Build and maintain infrastructure for managing large-scale image datasets and metadata.Implement automation tools to optimize manual workflows.Integrate AI/ML models into production-ready software systems.Develop internal GUIs and tools to enhance usability and functionality.Ensure adherence to software best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.Support traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming.Experience in workflow automation, data processing pipelines, and version control (e.g., Git).Familiarity with GUI development frameworks (e.g., PyQt, Tkinter, React, Angular, or Vue).Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:2–4 years of relevant software engineering experience.Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences, or medical devices.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).Exposure to digital imaging, machine learning, or high-performance computing (HPC).
