IT Desktop Support Specialist Location: Coppell, TX Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay Rate: $22 – $28/hour (Flexible Based on Experience) Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (Annual bonus potential upon conversion after 1 year) Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an IT Desktop Support Specialist on behalf of a high-growth organization based in Coppell, TX.

This role is a contract-to-hire opportunity with excellent long-term growth potential and benefits upon conversion.

We're looking for a skilled IT professional who can support and manage enterprise client desktop environments using modern technologies and desktop management tools.

Summary The Enterprise Client Endpoint Services team provides life cycle management of approved enterprise software and hardware for client desktops.

This position is key in maintaining standard OS deployments, supporting corporate and shop systems, and providing advanced desktop support in a large enterprise environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and maintain corporate and shop OS images.Create and document standardized system build procedures.Provide Tier 3 engineering support for desktop-related issues.Review, package, and deploy software patches and upgrades.Utilize desktop management systems (e.g., HPDM, PDQ, Big Fix, SCCM) for application and OS deployment.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to client configurations and operating systems.Standardize desktop/laptop utilities and enforce consistent security settings.Maintain up-to-date documentation for desktop configurations and specifications.Support enterprise-wide IT initiatives, including system upgrades and deployments.Collaborate with change management processes and represent endpoint services in release meetings.Monitor and respond to system security events using SCCM, Intune, and Azure.Present desktop technology roadmaps to stakeholders as needed.

RequirementsMinimum 3 years of experience in a Windows desktop support or engineering role.Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Linux (RHEL), and Mac OS.Hands-on experience with desktop engineering and management tools (HPDM, PDQ, SCCM, Big Fix).Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.Skilled in troubleshooting Windows OS, desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat), and system configurations.Experience deploying unattended OS installations.Solid understanding of networking as it pertains to desktop environments.High attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware Workstation) is a plus.MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 certification is a plus.
