Network DevOps Engineer

FEDITC is seeking a Network DevOps Engineer to work at Scott AFB, Illinois.

A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:Determines opportunities to make process improvements and remove toil through automationActs as a change advocate, encourages culture change and modernizes legacy workflowsCreates and maintains a suite of network and system’s automation toolsAble to work as a sole contributor, working autonomously on projects.Typical duties include: Automates the provisioning and upgrades of network routers and switchesMaintains and improves a network CI/CD pipeline through Gitlab CI and EVE-NGBuilds ad hoc Python scripts to interact with various network APIsAutomates lab environments, maintaining test/dev/production environmentsAssists network and systems engineers with their daily workflow Experience/Skills:5+ years of Python development experienceAbility to create basic Flask and Django REST APIsExpertise with network automation libraries such as Netmiko, Scrapli, and pyATSFamiliarity with templating engines such as Jinja2Interaction with databases through SQLAlchemyCan call REST APIs through the requests and httpx librariesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, Gitlab CI experience preferredExperience creating and running Docker/Podman containersKnowledge of network emulation platforms such as Cisco CML, EVE-NG, and GNS3Experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP/IP, and server and network infrastructure Additional Preferred Skills:Previous experience automating infrastructurePublic repository of network automation projectsUnderstanding of domain driven design practicesExperience with network specific APIs (NETCONF, RESTCONF, gNMI)Ansible expertiseKnowledge of document processing languages such as Markdown and LaTeXBasic knowledge of terraformExperience with distributed computingKnowledge of frontend languages/frameworks Education:Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent work experience Certification:A professional certification, such as Cisco Devnet Professional is highly desired Clearance:Active Secret clearance is required.Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
