The primary responsibilities of a senior technical trainer are to provide scientific training during New Employee Orientation and continued training for established employees. A senior technical trainer mentors section trainers, master trainers, and those in a technical trainer I or II role.
A senior technical trainer works with new employees as they transition to their department in the lab by providing both the theory and practical skills to be successful. The technical trainer also prepares for and conducts training sessions on laboratory procedures, focusing on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The trainer works with supervisors and the subject matter experts to standardize training by preparing technical training materials for the laboratory. Senior technical trainers also serve as lab training experts; working within departments to identify potential section trainers, refine training materials, develop appropriate job code structures, and assist the area management with the competency matrix.

Arrange and conduct training development meetings
Facilitate internal certification programs and training from subject matter experts
Produce and update training materials (videos, TBS documents, training checklists, presentations, etc.) Master Control Training Administrator
Create, manage, and verify courses in Master Control
Keep Master Control roles, job codes, and courses updated
Ensure that personnel have proper documentation for applicable procedures Departmental Training Program Development
Coordinate with department trainers and subject matter experts to standardize laboratory training according to PDD standards and training best practices.
Publish training materials in Master Control. Regulatory Compliance
Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc.)
