Role Overview

As a Claims & Risk Analyst, you'll lead the charge in executing and optimizing our enterprise-wide claims and risk management strategy. Collaborating with internal teams, insurance brokers, and external partners, you'll manage complex claims, analyze risk data, and drive process improvements. What You'll Do

Manage Claims with Expertise: Oversee a diverse portfolio of insurance claims (auto liability, property, professional liability) from investigation to resolution. Negotiate settlements, monitor progress, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders for timely, effective outcomes.

Deliver Strategic Insights: Analyze loss data, track global insurance trends, and identify emerging risks to inform decision-making and minimize company-wide exposures.

Optimize Processes: Streamline claims processes, develop insightful dashboards, and provide actionable recommendations to reduce the total cost of risk.

Collaborate Effectively: Partner with corporate and field teams, brokers, carriers, and claimants to ensure clear communication and exceptional service.

Support Policy Renewals: Work with brokers and underwriters to provide accurate documentation for seamless insurance policy renewals.

Lead Impactful Projects: Contribute to enterprise risk management (ERM) strategies, coordinate annual meetings in Utah, and explore innovative risk solutions.

Provide Administrative Support: Maintain meticulous records, generate reports, and perform ad-hoc analyses to support safety and insurance programs.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in insurance and claims management, with a proven track record of handling complex claims and analyzing risk data.

Experience with claims litigation, including involvement in the discovery process, arbitration, and use of experts.

Candidates must have familiarity with U.S. insurance regulations and claims litigation processes, as the role involves direct interaction with U.S.-based brokers, carriers, and legal frameworks.

Skills & Abilities

Analytical Excellence: Strong ability to interpret policy language, analyze loss data, and identify trends to deliver clear, actionable insights.

Negotiation Skills: Proven expertise in negotiating claim settlements while building lasting stakeholder relationships.

Communication Mastery: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for accurate documentation and effective stakeholder engagement.

Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with databases and web-based platforms a plus.

Project Management: Proven ability to manage timelines, track metrics, and develop dashboards to communicate key insights.

Physical Requirements

Primarily office-based work in Kalamazoo, MI, with regular computer use.

Occasional travel within Michigan and nearby states for field inspections, photos, or in-person claim settlements, requiring a valid U.S. driver's license.

Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the Kalamazoo, MI, area to support regular collaboration with local teams.
