Longwood Gardens is seeking an Associate Director of Mechanical Services to provide daily leadership, mentoring, training, project management and a cohesive, consolidated approach to the support of plumbing- and steam-systems activities. Responsibilities include:
Manage mechanical systems of piping, pumping, boiler, potable & wastewater systems infrastructure
Supervise and direct staff performing repairs and maintenance duties
Ensure mechanical systems preventive maintenance inspections and repairs are completed as mandated by local municipalities
Conduct rapid response, investigation, and management of all mechanical emergency situations
Manage all requests for mechanical service calls, evaluate requests and dispatch appropriate support
Manage appropriate CMMS programs and ensure staff understanding of the system
Identify and report opportunities for energy, preventive maintenance, and/or other cost-saving measures
Manage supply and tools inventory
Review specifications and bidding documents for required scheduled Service Contracts or contracted support for building-trades initiatives
Maintain productive relationships with internal departments, vendors and critical business partners who perform services related to systems within the scope of responsibilities The ideal candidate will possess:
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related Construction field, or related military training
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervising building-trades maintenance role
Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of mechanical piping/plumbing/steam/potable/wastewater systems.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, project and time management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Excellent verbal communication, strong interpersonal and professional writing skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
