Title: Automation Engineer

Location: ONSITE in Cambridge, MA

my Pharma client is urgently seeking new resumes for an Automation Engineer position. Last Candidates did not succeed because they did not have Wet Chemistry experience, did not have strong enough programming experience and lastly, could not intelligently speak as to the skill sets that were listed on their resumes .

Seeking an Automation Engineer with a strong engineering and programming background who will be responsible for translating laboratory workflows into robust automated protocols and optimizing existing automation infrastructure. This person will serve as the in-house expert for custom robotics and system orchestration to advance pharmaceutical development.

Client name will not be disclosed until after a qualified candidate resume is presented. client uses AI detected software during the interview process so candidates must actually have the skills listed on their resumes. Work references will need to be provided.

Must have 2+ years of writing and optimizing scripts in programming or scripting automation systems and designing and implementing automated laboratory processes from the initial concept through to full deployment.

REQUIREMENTS of the Automation Engineer:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical), Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• 2+ years of experience programming and developing automated laboratory systems

• MUST HAVE WET CHEMISTRY experience!

• Strong skills in writing and optimizing scripts in programming or scripting automation system

• STRONG Programming coding, in any languages, preferred: C #, Python, Labview

• Chemistry lab experience required. Previous experience working with Scientists and knowledge of their safety protocols required

• Experience in designing and implementing automated laboratory processes from the initial concept through to full deployment.

• Strong understanding of robotics, instrument control, and system integration.

• n ability to work as part of a team, engaging other scientists with complementary skill sets in the field of pharmaceutical development.

• change agent mentality, proposing Client approach to challenging scientific questions and exploring new modeling approaches.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with laboratory analytical measurement instruments or relevant work experience in a pharmaceutical sciences laboratory setting.

• Domain knowledge in small molecule process development with demonstrated industrial applications or academic publications in this field

• Some knowledge in Multivariate Analysis, chemometrics and statistics

• Experience in the development and scale-up of continuous processes
