General Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to oversee the financial health of our organization while also supporting core human resources functions. This dual-focus role will manage budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance,
while also contributing to HR activities such as compensation planning, employee benefits strategy, and organizational planning. The ideal candidate is both number-driven and people-conscious, with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting
• Lead all aspects of financial operations including accounting, budgeting,
forecasting, and reporting.
• Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations for
executive leadership.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage company cash flow, capital planning, and cost containment strategies.
• Support audits, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning in partnership
with department leads.
HR & Organizational Support
• Oversee payroll systems and ensure compliance with labor laws and tax reporting requirements.
• Partner with HR on compensation planning, salary benchmarking, and incentive structure development.
• Support benefits analysis and vendor negotiations for employee healthcare,
retirement, and insurance programs.
• Collaborate on headcount planning, workforce cost forecasting, and organizational structure reviews.
• Help maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws through
finance-HR alignment.
• Contribute to company culture initiatives, employee engagement strategies, and
onboarding/offboarding financial processes.
Leadership & Team Management
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance and administrative team.
• Collaborate closely with the HR department and executive leadership to align
financial strategy with organizational goals.
• Provide coaching and oversight to staff on financial best practices and compliance
matters.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
• CPA (not mandatory, but a plus)
• Minimum of 5 years’ financial experience, with 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing or partnering with HR functions such as payroll, benefits, or
compensation is a strong plus.
• Proficient in financial systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style.
Preferred Experience:
• Background in both financial and HR leadership within a growing company.
• Prior involvement in scaling HR and finance systems during periods of growth or
organizational change.
