Position Summary: As a Mold Maker, you will directly support production and engineering with the maintenance, repair, assessment and troubleshooting of thermoplastic injection molds.

Roles and Responsibilities

Setup and operate milling machines, lathes, jig grinders, sinker EDM, Wire EDM and all other tool room machinery.

Ability to operate both manual and CNC equipment.

Diagnoses and repairs Injection Molds.

Performs routine preventative maintenance on Injection Molds.

Identifies issues and develops strategies to mitigate future issues with Injection Molds.

Fabricates replacement components as necessary from prints or via reverse engineering of existing designs.

Maintains maintenance and repair records per established quality system.

Ability to safely and effectively operate independently of direct supervision for routine tooling activities.

Work closely with production and/or engineering to develop and build production and metrology fixturing.

Proficient at precision measurement techniques and equipment such as but not limited to calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, comparator, indicators, etc.

Proficient at detailed blueprint reading.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience as a Machinist.

Minimum 5 years of experience working with Injection Mold Tooling, either building new, maintaining existing or a combination of both.

Experience with hot runner tooling, including diagnostic and repair of hot runner systems.

Functional knowledge of computers and CAD/CAM software.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to effectively communicate with other toolmakers, engineers and production personnel.

High School/Equivalent required

Tool and Die Maker Certification preferred
