Network Engineer
Onsite – Dublin, OH
Contract: 3-6 months
CDW is seeking a highly skilled and motivatedNetwork Engineerto join our onsite IT infrastructure team in Dublin, OH. The ideal candidate will possess expert-level knowledge in networking technologies, a deep understanding of network security, and the ability to lead and execute complex infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on technical role with a focus on operational excellence, performance optimization, and maintaining a secure and resilient enterprise network.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN infrastructure.
Manage routing and switching using protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco IOS, NX-OS, Meraki devices, and related network hardware.
Provide support for VPNs, NAC, Zero Trust, and other secure access technologies.
Monitor and analyze network performance; implement improvements and optimizations.
Manage and support 4G/5G and wireless networking solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure projects on schedule.
Lead troubleshooting efforts during high-profile outages with a strong sense of urgency.
Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
Maintain accurate network documentation and produce clear technical writing.
Ensure compliance with network security best practices including firewall, IDS/IPS, and policy enforcement.
Assist with cloud networking initiatives and integrations with platforms such as AWS and Azure.
Required experience:
Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security.
In-depth experience with Cisco IOS, NXOS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, FCoE, and Fibre Channel.
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, and related networking hardware.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated leadership in managing outages and implementing solutions under pressure.
Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications:
CCNP or similar equivalent advanced networking certifications.
