Title: School Nutrition Assistant Manager (School-Level) Division: Financial Services Reports To: Coordinator, School Nutrition Operations Salary Schedule: N4 Work Days: 183 Days/8 hours per day FLSA Status: Non-Exempt The School Nutrition Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the School Nutrition Manager with the financial and program management, supervision, and daily operation of the local school nutrition program.
Essential Duties: * Assist with managing the School Nutrition Program in compliance with all federal, state, local and BOE policies and procedures.
* Implement and adhere to Classified Employee Work Rules and School Nutrition Personnel and Uniform Standards.
* Assist, where needed and assigned, in all phases of food production: cooking, cleaning, serving, and other duties.
* Instruct other personnel after receiving direction from the Manager.
* Ensure sanitation and safety procedures are followed at all times.
* Supervise School Nutrition Workers at assigned school in the absence of the Manager.
* Maintain food safety and sanitation procedures including employee cleanliness and food handling, receiving, storage, and preparation and cooling; monitor temperature records of refrigerated equipment, freezers.
and dry food storage areas.
* Assist in keeping accurate records.
* Assist with managing the use and care of small and large equipment.
* Promote school nutrition and exhibit good public relations.
* Complete all required training including, but not limited to, State Nutrition Training, annual local training, and 30 hour Orientation for Nutrition Employees.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Qualifications: * Minimum of a HS Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required.
* Valid ServSafe certification required, or ability to obtain such certification within three months of employment.
Must maintain for position.
* Minimum of one year of experience working as a school nutrition assistant in a public school setting, preferred.
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
* Demonstrated technological competencies.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional, tactful, and cooperative working relationship with all educators, students, staff, families, and other stakeholders.
* Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
* Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
* Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
* Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Some kneeling required.
* Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
* Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
* Ability to work in conditions with extreme cold or heat.
* Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
