OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE:

We are looking for a junior controller to be inserted in the Submarine BU controlling team, physically based in Milan but reporting to the PPLS (UK based company) finance manager.

The role is focusing especially on forecasting, monitoring and reporting costs of various vessels operations across the Submarine business. The main objective of the role is to deliver efficient and effective financial control, support and forecasting during the planning, preparation and execution phases of the installation project life cycle so that project revenues, costs and margins are delivered as expected by the business.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the colleagues as Focal point in Finance for all what concerns the vessels costs across the Submarine BU

Ownership of discrete installation project forecast files (in Excel).

Create and update vessels budgets, forecasting vessels operations costs and monitoring the actuals.

Continuous improvement/adaption of the discrete project forecasts files as required to suit needs of the individual characteristics of a project.

Perform variance analysis related to vessels activities and identify areas for improvement.

Support wider Finance team and projects stakeholders with ad hoc tasks and reports related to installation activities.

Enter cost accruals.

Attend and drive weekly/monthly project review meetings as necessary.

Accountable to FC for day to day project cost controlling matters.

With support be able to provide financial & interrelated commercial advice to the various installation project stakeholders to enhance project outcomes.

Maintain installation project audit files for external & internal auditing.

Other business reporting and other ad-hoc reports as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, economics or a related field.Excellent numerical and analytical skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SAP knowledge is a plus

Fluent in English

Attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Proactive and flexible attitude

Willingness to learn and grow
