Position Summary:
Baptist Health is looking for all levels of Medical Laboratory Scientists to join our Princeton team! The Medical Laboratory Scientist analyzes blood and body fluids using both automated and complex manual methods following established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of laboratory results within established timeframes.
We are looking for Medical Laboratory Scientists I, II, III, and Senior level professionals. Please keep in mind that level advancement is available and encouraged!

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Medical Lab Scientist Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Verifies routine results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability using prescribed guidelines.
Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
Receives guidance and direction from more experienced team members or leader.
Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions.
Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies.
Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver.
Regularly reports all unusual findings to the immediate supervisor.
Regularly reports work activities and pending work to the oncoming technologist.
Responds to work related technical inquiries as needed.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
MLS Education/Training
Bachelor's or Associate's degree required.
Successful completion of clinical laboratory training internship.
MLS Licensure/Certification
Maintains current Alabama license as a Medical Technologist/Laboratory Scientist in the specialty or specialties required by the laboratory section(s) assigned.
National Certification such as American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), or American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.
