THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN DUBLIN, OH Ohio University, Department of Physician Assistant Practice, seeks applications and nominations for a non-tenure track Clinical Faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor depending upon qualifications. This is an 11-month full-time appointment. The department is seeking an individual who is a physician assistant or physician with experience in primary care, women’s health, and/or surgery, who also has an interest or experience in simulation, and is committed to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Rank and salary are negotiable as we are seeking the most qualified person for the position. Those with expertise in primary care, women’s health, surgery, and medical simulations are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in their area of expertise, provide students with academic and professional advising, participate in program service including the commitment to the program’s committees, and work in collaboration with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to provide clinical course oversight for a clinical course. It is expected that the candidate will have a record of success in clinical practice. Established in 1804, Ohio University is a doctoral/research intensive university with 21,000 students on its picturesque Athens Campus and another 8,500 students on five established regional campuses. The Department of Physician Assistant Practice began offering the Master of Physician Assistant Practice Degree in 2015. Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a master’s degree relevant to the clinical practice of physician assistants at the time of application. Current NCCPA certification Eligibility for licensure in OH Minimum of three years of clinical experience **MD/DO will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates with expertise in primary care, women’s health, and/or, surgery. Previous experience working with PA students either as faculty or as a clinical preceptor. Evidence of successful graduate teaching. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Strong organizational and computer skills. Commitment to active learning and use of technology in the learning process Commitment to involvement in professional organizations Demonstrated success in clinical practice and/or teaching
